A very warm welcome to my on-line gallery!

I am at heart a still-life painter influenced by the Spanish and Dutch tradition, but I also enjoy including unexpected surreal touches to keep your attention a little longer!!

Living in North Yorkshire I cannot fail to be influenced by the wonderful landscape (particularly of the moors and coast where I lived for eight glorious years) and I often find myself combining all these elements in a single artwork!

I work in oils on deep-sided box stretchers that I often make myself to get the size I need, and I paint all around each side of the canvas so that framing is quite unnecessary unless that is the look that you prefer (perhaps to fit in with a more traditional style of decor.)

I am happy to consider commissions that are generally along the lines of my preferred subject matter, so please contact me if you would like a painting just for you!
